Patrick Eggle Berlin Reviews 5

I was after a good quality guitar that could be gigged, put in a case, pulled out of the case and gigged again and again. I liked the PRS guitars but they wanted incredible money at the time. The Eggle looks similar. Hooked it up and couldn't get the grin off my face! Bought it from Cranes in Cardiff,S. Wales for £565 s/h in about 1992.

Where to begin! It looks good, it feels great and as for playability it's right up there with the best. Fantastic tone, it's got two humbuckers, whatever amp you play through. I eventually got to play a PRS and I'd have to say there's not much between them.

Absolutely nothing.

Well I've had it for 11 years and it's still got all the original equipment. It's a hand made guitar using quality materials, like Sperzel tuners, and it oozes class. Never had to change a component and it's gigged three days a week. (It would easily cope with more but I have to work for a living unfortunately).

I've had to submit this review 'cos I haven't seen another review on the site and these guitars are just too good to keep a secret. They are still made in the UK but I don't know about availability in the US or anywhere else. All I do know is that if you haven't had the opportunity to try one you are missing out. Get hold of one anyway you can! If anything ever happened to this guitar I'd sell the kids to buy another one!
